Sunday Morning Services
July 5th, 9:00am and 11:00am
This Sunday, Rev. Mark Pope’s topic is “The Prospering Power of Forgiveness.” The simple act of true forgiveness has the power to unleash all manner of greater good into our lives. The word condemn comes from Latin roots meaning "with a dam" implying that thoughts and feelings of condemnation toward the world actually dam up the universal flow of good that is intended to bless us and others through us. Sacred stories and scriptures are replete with examples of how rewarding our acts of forgiveness can be. Rev. Mark will draw from such stories this Sunday as examples of the prospering power of forgiveness. Come gather in sacred community and let us explore these possibilities together. Perhaps the simple willingness to release or let go of some old or new resentment could open the windows of heaven to you so that the universe may pour you out a blessing so grand that there would not be room enough to receive it all. Music will be provided by our Music Director, Oman Ken.
Children’s Program - Welcome
Unity Church of Sedona welcomes families to our Youth Education program. We welcome all children to Unity Children's Ministry at 11:00am in Upper Friendship Hall. Please bring your children around 10:45am to sign them in with their teachers.
The goals of the program include educating children about Unity principles, instilling a desire to explore our spiritual paths, developing a community of families and promoting key values such as compassion, love, gratitude, service, diversity and the application of truth principles. We honor your child’s spiritual journey by providing a safe and loving learning environment.
Our Children’s Program provides a variety of activities for the children to experience practical application of Truth principles. Each Sunday the children’s activities focus on a lesson theme.
A typical Sunday:
Attendance: The students and parents sign in for the day.
Opening Circle: We begin with introductions and a few minutes of sharing. The children gather together for prayer and meditation.
Class Room Activity: During time in their classroom, the children are involved in projects designed to enhance the lesson for the day, which is based on the Unity Curriculums, which explore the principles listed below. They often make a craft to take home to remind them of what they have learned.
Unity Principles for Youth
- God is all good and active in everything, everywhere.
- I am naturally good because God’s Divinity is in me and in everyone.
- I create my experiences by what I choose to think and what I feel and believe.
- Through affirmative prayer and meditation I connect with God and bring out the good in my life.
- I do and give my best by living the Truth I know. I make a difference.
